SignAS — Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-08-26

SignAS is an electronic-signature service that lets a document sender create a signing envelope, invite one or more signers, verify each signer's identity, and produce a document bearing an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) under Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS).

SignAS is operated by Martin Barth, an individual based in the Czech Republic ("the operator", "we", "us"). Contact: martasbarth8@gmail.com.

1. The service

SignAS is currently offered in development/sandbox status, integrated with a specific client system (a real-estate ERP). It is not a general public self-signup product. Access is provided to specific integration partners and their end signers.

2. What "Advanced Electronic Signature" means here

SignAS produces AES-level signatures: each signature is cryptographically bound to the final document (PAdES, RSA-2048 via AWS KMS, with an RFC 3161 timestamp) and to a verified signer identity (email/SMS one-time code, or Bank iD identity verification where enabled). SignAS does not provide Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) and does not claim QES-equivalent legal weight.

3. Signer identity verification

Where Bank iD is used, SignAS relies on the identity assertion provided by Bank iD (a Czech bank-identity federation service) and does not itself verify a signer's government ID. Where email or SMS one-time codes are used, identity verification is limited to control of the given email address or phone number.

4. Your responsibilities

If you send a document through SignAS, you are responsible for the accuracy of signer contact details and for using the service only for lawful purposes and documents you have the right to have signed. You must not use SignAS to impersonate another person or to obtain a signature through deception.

5. Audit trail and evidence

SignAS maintains a hash-chained, append-only audit log of key events for each envelope (creation, viewing, identity verification, signing) to support the evidentiary value of the resulting signature. This audit trail, and a generated "Certificate of Completion" summarizing it, may be retained and disclosed as evidence of how a document was signed.

6. Availability and changes

SignAS is provided on an "as is" basis without warranty of uninterrupted availability. As a small, actively developed service, features, endpoints, and these terms may change; material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator's liability for any claim arising from use of SignAS is limited to direct damages and excludes indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Czech or EU law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.

9. Data protection

See the Data Usage Policy for how personal data is collected, used, and retained.
